December’s Shuswap Real Estate Market Summary
The year-end data everyone was waiting for has arrived. We continue to experience a seller’s market here in the Shuswap. Inventory remains low across the Interior with the Shuswap seeing a dip of 7.5% year over year for a single-family home. While inventory continues to drop across the board for all property types, we are seeing very large increases in price. Single-family homes in the Shuswap real estate market have risen a whopping 28.9%. The average cost of a home in the area is now hovering slightly below $650,000.00. We continue to see buyers from the lower mainland who are attracted to larger property flock to the Interior. This is certainly a factor driving home prices through the roof, but it is not uncommon. There are many areas in BC and Canada experiencing the same phenomena.
